Rep. Thompson reflects on the 2015 legislative session

STATEHOUSE — “As Chairman of the K-12 Ways and Means Subcommittee, much of my time this session has been dedicated to crafting our state’s biennial budget. I am appreciative of the hard work our committee has put into passing an honestly balanced budget that continues to provide schools with the funding they need to prepare our children for future success.

“House Republicans have a proven track record of managing our finances responsibly, and by continuing this legacy, we provided the largest increase to education funding in our state’s history. This session, we also set out to fix discrepancies in our funding formula, and by increasing the foundation level, I am pleased that we were able to follow through on this commitment.”
