Note to the Press – State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton), chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement in response to the state's latest revenue forecast:
STATEHOUSE (Dec. 18, 2025) – "I am encouraged by Indiana's updated revenue forecast showing higher-than-expected growth driven by rising personal income and a booming stock market. It continues the positive trajectory we've been seeing since the last forecast in April, when economic growth was expected at a much slower pace. Medicaid expenditures are also dropping, though lawmakers continue to keep a close eye on cost increases in that program. Our philosophy continues to be managing a state government that's efficient with your tax dollars. Looking ahead, Hoosiers should also expect lower property taxes and individual income tax cuts that will collectively save them hundreds of millions of dollars."
