Note to the Press – State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton), chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement in response to the state's fiscal year 2026 report:
STATEHOUSE (July 15, 2026) – "Indiana continues to have a positive fiscal outlook with higher revenues than projected and strong reserves. Ongoing efforts to run state government as efficiently as possible and our growing economy undoubtedly contributed to this result. As we head into another budget session, our vision remains the same: advance fiscally responsible government that protects taxpayer dollars, supports economic growth and keeps Indiana on a strong path forward."
