Note to the Press – State Reps. Karen Engleman (R-Georgetown) and Zach Payne (R-Charlestown) issued the following statements today in response to the State Budget Committee approving $37.5 million for Origin Park. During the 2023 legislative session, Engleman and Payne voted in support of the funding as part of the new two-year state budget. The State Budget Committee formally approved releasing the funds on Friday, along with funding several other projects across the state.

STATEHOUSE (Oct. 30, 2023) – "This is a transformational investment for our area as Origin Park will boost our area's quality of life and tourism, as well as create opportunities for other economic development. This park will attract businesses and families to Southern Indiana, and I can't wait to see what the future holds," said State Rep. Karen Engleman (R-Georgetown).

"Origin Park is a great example of how the state can partner with local communities and organizations to make a positive difference in the lives of so many Hoosiers and the future of our state. We know that families and businesses alike consider quality of life when locating to an area, and this project helps fill that need. I'm grateful to the River Heritage Conservancy and local officials for their tireless work on this putting this project together and I look forward to seeing local residents reap the rewards," said State Rep. Zach Payne (R-Charlestown).
