Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) in your coverage of Indiana lawmakers on Tuesday voting to override the governor's veto of House Enrolled Act 1041, which protects the integrity of girls' sports. House Enrolled Act 1041 ensures biological males do not compete in K-12 girls' sports. The vote came as part of a one-day technical corrections session, where lawmakers can take up any vetoes and fix technical errors in laws passed during the prior session. Indiana will join at least 16 other states that have similar laws on the books protecting female sports:
STATEHOUSE (May 24, 2022) – "There's an obvious difference in the physiological makeup of males and females, and we need to continue recognizing that in Hoosier K-12 sports. It's vitally important we continue to defend the integrity of girls' sports," said State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville).
