Note to the Press – State Reps. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) and Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown) issued the following statements in response to the reported injuries and damage caused by severe storms in Delaware and Randolph counties. The Indiana State Police are asking residents to avoid traveling in the area due to heavy storm damage. Hoosiers impacted by Thursday's storms can call 211 or visit IN211.org to report damages and receive help with a damage assessment. Click here to report property damage to the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency. A reunification center has been set up at Wapahani High School for individuals who have been displaced or separated from their families.
STATEHOUSE (March 15, 2024) – "I'm saddened to hear the reports of injuries and damage in our community from the severe storm last night. I'm praying for the individuals who were hurt, and those whose homes and businesses are damaged. My sincere thanks go out to the men and women on the front lines who are helping with this situation, from our local first responders to Indiana's Task Force 1 and the Indiana State Police. I'll continue to monitor the situation and help share updates on resources as they become available," said State Rep. J.D. Prescott (R-Union City).
"My heart is heavy today as we start the recovery from last night's storm. My prayers are with all those affected by the damage. I'm grateful to know that both local and state first responders are working together to assess the damage and help our community," said State Rep. Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown).
