Note to the press: State Reps. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis) and Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis) released the following statements in response to being appointed to chair key committees at the Statehouse. Behning will again chair the House Education Committee and Speedy will chair the House Financial Institutions Committee. House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms.
STATEHOUSE (Dec. 5, 2022) – "While Indiana continues to make historic investments in K-12 education and is the No. 1 state for school choice and parent empowerment, we still have work to do. We must do more to ensure our high school graduates are ready to meet the needs of our 21st century economy, and I look forward to working on this critical issue and many others in the session ahead," said State Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis).
"Committees play an integral role in the legislative process, and I'm honored to lead the House Financial Institutions Committee. I look forward to hearing from the public and working with other lawmakers on policies that address issues affecting our state's financial services community," said State Rep. Mike Speedy (R-Indianapolis).
