Note to the Press – Area legislators provided the following statements today after Gov. Eric Holcomb announced his plan to call state lawmakers back to the Statehouse for a special session to provide inflation relief to Hoosier taxpayers:

STATEHOUSE (June 9, 2022) – “This session I supported the largest tax cut in state history along with an automatic taxpayer refund for Hoosiers. When the state takes in more than it needs, I believe it's only right to return that money to those who earned it. Now, we are once again in a position to return more money to Hoosiers, and I look forward to returning to the Statehouse to provide additional inflationary relief," said State Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis).

“Inflation is really impacting Hoosier families and their finances. With a second round of automatic taxpayer refunds this year, we can more efficiently return money back to hardworking Hoosiers who deserve some relief," said State Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon).

“Lawmakers have heard loud and clear from Hoosiers that they need help with increasing expenses. A tax refund is the best way to provide immediate relief while still maintaining prudent reserves," said State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
