Note to the Press – State Rep. Bob Behning (R-Indianapolis), chair of the House Education Committee, issued the following statement in response to the Indiana Department of Education and Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner releasing an updated draft of high school diploma changes:
STATEHOUSE (Aug. 14, 2024) – “I appreciate the time and effort that Dr. Katie Jenner, the Indiana Department of Education, the Indiana State Board of Education and stakeholders have put into ensuring students can tailor their education to their interests and have a bright future. High school graduates should have every opportunity to succeed, whether they enroll in college, serve in the military or seek additional training in high-demand industries."
