STATEHOUSE (Jan. 10, 2017) — State Rep. Dave Wolkins (R-Warsaw) today at the Statehouse recognized Warsaw community High School senior, Mason Metzger, for his achievements as a Riley Champion, and a public speaker, among other accomplishments.
“It was a joy to welcome Mason to the Statehouse where he addressed the House and spoke to legislators about the importance of living life with a purpose,” Wolkins said. “His positive attitude is contagious and I am eager to see what else he accomplishes in the future.”
Metzger was diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy at the age of one. Since the eighth grade, Metzger’s dream was to be a motivational speaker, and he has spoken to nearly 30 groups about perseverance, hope and purpose. Metzger is also a triathlete, competing with myTEAM TRIUMPH. He was chosen as a Riley Champion for showing courage and selfless dedication to others through philanthropic effort.
