Note to the press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Tim Wesco (R- Osceola), chair of the House Elections and Apportionment Committee, in your coverage of Gov. Eric Holcomb’s announcement Friday to postpone the primary elections until June 2:

STATEHOUSE (March 20, 2020) – “It is clear the current health crisis demands decisive action, and Governor Holcomb's decision to postpone the primary election by one month is the right move for our state. Some county clerk’s offices are currently closed to mitigate person-to-person contact, and are not in condition to administer an election under these circumstances. Taking this additional time to prepare for our primary election will not only help Hoosiers stay healthy and avoid spreading the virus, but also ensure everyone who can vote has a chance to perform their civic duty.”
