Warrick County farm recognized by state with Hoosier Homestead Award
STATEHOUSE (Aug. 14, 2025) – The Deller Farm in Warrick County recently received a Hoosier Homestead Centennial Award for being in operation since 1923, according to State Rep. Cindy Ledbetter (R-Newburgh) and State Sen. Vaneta Becker (R-Evansville).
"Indiana farm families have been feeding the world for generations, and we honor them with Hoosier Homestead awards," Ledbetter said. "Even after many years of hard work and commitment to the land, these farmers continue to build our state into the gold standard of American agriculture."
Hoosier Homestead awards honor farms owned and operated by the same family for 100, 150 and 200 years with centennial, sesquicentennial or bicentennial awards.
"Receiving a Hoosier Homestead award is a testament to agricultural greatness not many are able to achieve," Becker said. "I am proud to represent the Deller Farm and be a part of giving them the recognition they so clearly deserve."
This farm family was among 95 awardees recently honored during a ceremony at the Indiana State Fair.
Hoosier Homestead ceremonies are conducted every spring and summer. Since establishing the program in 1976, Indiana has recognized more than 6,000 farms for their economic and cultural impact to the state.
