STATEHOUSE (June 20, 2018) — State Rep. Jeff Thompson (R-Lizton) was recently selected to serve on three summer study committees, which examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and recommend potential legislation.
Thompson is assigned to the Interim Study Committee on Elections, the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy and the Interim Study Committee on Pension Management Oversight.
“The fiscal policy study committee has a full docket of issues to study from the impact of Hoosier smoking rates on workforce development to establishing a regional development tax credit,” Thompson said. “Taking time in the summer to study these topics helps us to decide if we need new legislation to be presented during session.”
Thompson said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
In addition, Thompson will serve as a member of the Indiana Stadium and Convention Building Authority.
