STATEHOUSE (July 6, 2017) — State Rep. Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville) was recently selected to serve on the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.

She said the committee will examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and recommend potential legislation for the 2018 legislative session.

“As an engineer, I’m focused on using data to determine need and drive solutions,” Sullivan said. “As we look at the state’s transportation infrastructure, I will remain committed to fiscal responsibility while ensuring we have the tools to maintain Indiana’s reputation as the Crossroads of America.”

Sullivan said the summer committee will be studying several interesting topics including a motor vehicle inspection and maintenance program in Lake and Porter counties. The group will be also be researching an amnesty program for persons with traffic violations and will make recommendations about how bids are taken by the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Sullivan is a member of the House Committee on Roads and Transportation and co-authored the largest infrastructure investment plan in Indiana history. She said the new law is a responsible, comprehensive and sustainable policy to fund Indiana’s roads and bridges for the next 20 years.

She said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are welcomed to attend and testify.
