Note to the press: Please include the following statement from State Rep. Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville) in your coverage of the passage of House Bill 1001 out of the House Ways and Means Committee, which she serves on as chairwoman of the Budget Subcommittee. The bill, supported by Sullivan, outlines Indiana's next two-year $36.3 billion budget proposal. House Bill 1001 now moves to the full House of Representatives for consideration:
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 12, 2021) – "The proposed budget showcases Indiana's strong financial standing and sends a message to all Hoosiers and neighboring states that we are on the right path toward economic recovery. For the last decade, passing a fiscally responsible budget has been a priority. As a result, we have the opportunity to not just maintain funding for K-12 public education and rural broadband, but substantially increase both. Our proposal also includes funding for small business relief, workforce readiness training and programs to help students whose learning was disrupted by the pandemic."
