STATEHOUSE (June 23, 2016) — State Rep. Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville) has been selected to serve on the Funding Indiana’s Roads for a Stronger Safer Tomorrow Task Force and on the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.

The task force was established to develop a long-term funding plan for state highway and major bridge needs.

“Our top priority will be to identify solutions to our state and local road funding needs to preserve our reputation as the Crossroads of America,” Sullivan said. “The task force’s recommendations will be used when drafting the two-year budget during the 2017 legislative session. The work we complete this summer will help shape how the state moves forward with a long-term, sustainable and responsible road funding plan.”

The Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation will address important issues including the suitability of specialty group recognition license plates and the pros and cons of equipping school buses with safety belts.

Sullivan said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also invited to attend.
