STATEHOUSE (Sept. 21, 2017) — Local communities will receive state matching grants to improve roads and bridges, according to State Rep. Holli Sullivan (R-Evansville).
More than $150 million was awarded to Indiana cities, towns and counties through the Community Crossings grant program, which is now in its second year. The grants are available through the Indiana Department of Transportation as a result of legislation co-authored by Sullivan in 2016.
“Investments in our infrastructure are vital to economic development efforts,” Sullivan said. “Community Crossings grants will go a long way for local communities to make much-needed repairs to our roads and bridges, which will improve safety for all our residents.”
As part of the program, Vanderburgh County received $444,930 and Warrick County received $352,955 for road and bridge improvements. In addition, six local communities were awarded grants:

Projects eligible for funding through Community Crossings include road and bridge preservation, road reconstruction, intersection improvements, small structure replacements, guardrail replacements and signs.
Sullivan is a member of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation. She also serves on the House Committee on Roads and Transportation and the House Committee on Ways and Means.
