STATEHOUSE (March 29, 2022) – State Reps. Jake Teshka (R-South Bend) and Tim Wesco (R-Osceola) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program.
According to Teshka, the students toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities and joined lawmakers on the House floor to witness the legislative process.
"It's always great to see students taking an interest in government and wanting to come visit the Statehouse," Teshka said. "Students who serve as pages experience how things are done behind the scenes and even help perform tasks for lawmakers on the House floor. This is a great opportunity and I recommend more young Hoosiers get involved with this program."
These area students served as pages during the 2022 legislative session:
"Watching young Hoosiers from my district serve as pages in the Statehouse is always extremely rewarding," Wesco said. "I'm grateful for the help they provide on the House floor and enjoy watching them interact with fellow pages as they learn more about the legislative process."
Wesco said students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating during the 2023 session.
