STATEHOUSE (March 20, 2020) – State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they served as pages during the 2020 legislative session:

  • Erin Hall, from Crothersville, attends Austin High School;
  • Megan Hall, from Crothersville, attends Austin Middle School; and
  • Alana Jacobi, from Seymour, attends Seymour Middle School.

Through the Indiana House Page Program, these students toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities and joined Lucas on the House floor to witness the legislative process.

“Thanks to the page program, I had the chance to meet these bright students at the Statehouse this year,” Lucas said. “It is amazing to see these young minds take an interest in state government, and it is one of the best ways to learn about the lawmaking process.”

Lucas said that while this session's page program has concluded, students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating in 2021.
