STATEHOUSE (March 23, 2020) – State Rep. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they served as pages during the 2020 legislative session:

  • Ashlynn Ivers, from Bruceville, attends North Knox Junior Senior High School;
  • Hannah Ivers, from Bruceville, attends North Knox Junior Senior High School;
  • Abigail Sydow, from Edwardsport, attends Eagle Wings Academy;
  • Faith Sydow, from Edwardsport, attends Eagle Wings Academy; and
  • Kylie Wagaman, from Terre Haute, attends the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities.

Through the Indiana House Page Program, these students toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities and joined Borders on the House floor to witness the legislative process.

“It's great having such engaged students join me at the Statehouse,” Borders said. “Hosting young people from our community is exciting, and it encourages them to become more civic-minded and involved.”

Borders said that while this year's page program has concluded, students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating in 2021. For more information, call 1-800-382-9841.
