STATEHOUSE (April 8, 2019) – State Rep. Woody Burton (R-Whiteland) recently welcomed local student pages to the Statehouse.

As House pages, these students toured the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers, and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also helped staff with their daily tasks and met with Burton to learn more about the legislative process:

  • Mia Bowman, from Whiteland, attends the Indiana Digital Learning School;
  • Heidi Brewer, from Greenwood, is a homeschooled student;
  • Riley Brewer, from Greenwood, attends Whiteland Community High School;
  • Diego Gomez, from Osgood, attends Jac-Cen-Del High School;
  • Erin Groce, from Spiceland, attends Indiana Connections Academy;
  • Halle Hunt, from Greenwood, is a homeschooled student;
  • Daniel Ketehum, from Nineveh, is a homeschooled student;
  • Sebastijan Nadj, from Franklin, attends Whiteland Community High School;
  • Analia Tapia, from Greenwood, is a homeschooled student; and
  • Rebekah Tapia, from Greenwood, attends Clark Pleasant Middle School.

“This is a great opportunity for students to gain a better understanding of the legislative process while working directly with their state representative,” Burton said. “Each session, I look forward to students from our community spending a day at the Statehouse as part of the page program.”

Burton said students aged 13 to 18 should consider participating as a page during the 2020 session. For more information, visit www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram.
