Student pages join Rep. Steuerwald at the Statehouse

STATEHOUSE (April 30, 2019) – State Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) recently welcomed local student pages to the Statehouse.

As House pages, these students toured the governor’s office, the House and Senate chambers, and the Indiana Supreme Court. They also helped staff with their daily tasks and met with Steuerwald to learn more about the legislative process:

  • Jeffrey Dreyer, from Indianapolis, attends the Lynhurst 7th and 8th Grade Center;
  • Tristan Gooding, from Plainfield, attends Plainfield High School;
  • Madilynn Heydenreich, from Plainfield, attends Plainfield High School;
  • Hannah Kirchgasser, from Avon, attends Avon High School;
  • Reese Langhorne, from Indianapolis, attends Brownsburg East Middle School;
  • William Lynch, from Avon, attends Avon Middle School South;
  • Logan Magallon, from Avon, attends Avon High School;
  • Ella Podany, from Carmel, attends Clay Middle School;
  • Olivia Podany, from Carmel, attends Mohawk Trails Elementary School; and
  • Jacob Stamm, from Plainfield, attends Avon Middle School South.

“The page program is an incredible opportunity for students in our community to visit the Statehouse and work alongside local representatives,” Steuerwald said. “It was an honor for me to meet these young Hoosiers, and I encourage others to participate in the future and become civically engaged.”

Students between the ages of 13 to 18 who are interested in paging during the 2020 session can learn more at Participants receive an excused absence from school and groups can request to page together.
