STATEHOUSE (June 23, 2016) — State Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) will be serving as chair of the Interim Study Committee on Courts and the Judiciary.
In preparation for the 2017 legislative session, which begins in January, interim study committee members meet to examine assigned topics, gather testimonies and identify potential legislation.
“These discussions throughout the summer months will provide lawmakers opportunities to review a variety of proposed policies aimed at improving the procedure and functions of our court system,” Steuerwald said. “As a chair of the Interim Study Committee on Courts and Judiciary, I look forward to leading fellow committee members in a robust discourse this summer.”
Steuerwald said interim study committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas. Members of the public are also welcomed to attend.
Steuerwald will also chair the Code Revision Commission and serve on the Interim Study Committee on Corrections and Criminal Code as well as the Legislative Council.
State Rep. Greg Steuerwald (R-Avon) represents a portion of Hendricks County.
