STATEHOUSE (July 10, 2024) – State Reps. Karen Engleman (R-Georgetown) and Zach Payne (R-Charleston) recently received appointments to serve on interim study committees, which will meet throughout the summer and fall to explore policy issues and work together to identify solutions.

Legislators will hear testimony from the public, various experts and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the budget session in January. Engleman will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Government. She will also chair the Code Revision Committee.

"Summer study committees give legislators an excellent opportunity to identify continuing needs in our state and hear from others on possible solutions," Engleman said. "With state government, it's always important to ensure it's operating efficiently for Hoosiers."

Payne will serve on the Interim Study Committee on Elections.
