STATEHOUSE (May 3, 2023) – State Reps. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) and Jake Teshka (R-South Bend) recently welcomed Penn High School students Preston Miller and Gavin McAllister to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2023 legislative session.
Miller of Granger and McAllister of South Bend assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties and toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse. They also joined DeVon and Teshka on the House floor to witness and learn about the legislative process.
"The page program is a great way for students to learn more about public service and state history," DeVon said. "It's exciting to have them at the Statehouse to experience what it's like when the legislature is in session."
"Pages get a unique, behind-the-scenes experience during their time at the Statehouse," Teshka said. "These students are the next generation of leaders, and it's great to see them becoming actively engaged."
Students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2024 legislative session.
