STATEHOUSE (Dec. 18, 2024) – State Reps. Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) and Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper) recently received appointments to serve on key House standing committees at the Statehouse.
House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms. Borders will serve as vice chair of the House Local Government Committee. He will also serve as a member of the House Insurance Committee, and the House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee.
"Our communities thrive when local governments, businesses and families have the tools they need to succeed," Borders said. "I'm honored to continue working on legislation that strengthens Indiana's economy and protects Hoosiers' livelihoods."
Lindauer was reappointed as chair of the House Natural Resources Committee and will serve as a member of the House Roads and Transportation Committee.
"My top priority as chair is for us to be great stewards of the land and natural resources we have been given," Lindauer said. "I'm eager to continue to protect our great land in the Hoosier state responsibly."
House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 8 for the first day of the 2025 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session.
