STATEHOUSE (Dec. 13, 2018) — State Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus) was recently selected to serve on three House committees, including the House Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee.
Lauer was also assigned to the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee, and the House Government and Regulatory Reform Committee.
“Committees give legislators opportunities to review proposals for new laws and hear from experts and the public,” Lauer said. “I believe my experience serving with the Bartholomew County Council will help me contribute to important policy discussions to move Indiana forward.”
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
Standing committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
