STATEHOUSE (Dec. 10, 2018) – State Rep. Matt Hostettler (R-Fort Branch) was recently appointed to serve on three House committees.
He will serve on the House Public Policy Committee, the House Local Government Committee and the House Select Committee on Government Reduction.
“The committee system is an essential element of the legislative process,” Hostettler said. “Committee meetings are beneficial for learning more about public and expert opinions on each bill. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues in the House on topics that affect our state’s public policy and the governments of our local cities, towns and counties.”
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 3, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
Standing committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
