STATEHOUSE (July 28, 2020) — Charley Creek Inn recently received the Governor’s Century Business award recognizing its longstanding service in the community, according to State Rep. Dave Wolkins (R-Warsaw).

"The inn is a real hidden gem, and adds so much value to our community," Wolkins said. "The renovation really gives off a historic feel, and that's drawn people in. The inn enhances everything Wabash has to offer."

Wolkins said Charley Creek Inn is a historic landmark and one of the most recognizable buildings in the county. Founded in 1920, the inn boasts a detailed renovation that restored it to its origins and offers a restaurant, lounge, wine and cheese shop and an ice cream and candy shop.

According to Wolkins, 76 businesses were recognized for remaining in continuous operation in Indiana for at least 50 or 100 consecutive years and demonstrating a commitment to serving the community. They will be invited to participate in the 2021 ceremony, with this year's spring ceremony canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

More than 1,560 Hoosier businesses have been recognized during award's 29-year history.
