STATEHOUSE (July 30, 2020) — ElectriCom and First Chance Center recently received the Governor’s Half Century Business Award recognizing their longstanding service in the community, according to State Reps. Steve Davisson (R-Salem) and Stephen Bartels (R-Eckerty).

"There are so many businesses across our great state that for decades have withstood economic slumps and technological shifts," Davisson said. "These awards serve as a reminder of their resiliency and dedication to their work and communities."

According to Davisson, ElectriCom and First Chance Center were recognized for remaining in operation in Indiana for 60 and 51 years respectively, and demonstrating a commitment to serving the community.

Bartels said the 76 Indiana companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business awards will be invited to participate in the 2021 ceremony, with this year's spring ceremony postponed.

"For more than 50 years, ElectriCom and First Chance Center offered services to our community and resources to help others succeed," Bartels said. "First Chance is a non-profit working to provide opportunities for persons with disabilities in our communities and have touched numerous lives. Congrats to both ElectiCom and First Chance on this milestone."

More than 1,560 Hoosier businesses have been recognized during award's 29-year history.
