STATEHOUSE (July 31, 2020) — Blue River Services and Shireman Construction recently received the Governor’s Half Century Business Award recognizing their longstanding service in the community, according to State Rep. Karen Engleman (R-Georgetown).

Engleman said Blue River Services has been in continuous operation for 61 years, and Shireman Construction has been in continuous operation for 63 years.

"These two entities are synonymous with Harrison County," Engleman said. "Whether it's building the Harrison County Hospital, our schools and other commercial buildings, or providing residents throughout our area with much-needed services to help them achieve independence, these businesses have a long history of serving our community."

The 76 Indiana companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business awards will be invited to participate in the 2021 ceremony, with this year's spring ceremony canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

More than 1,560 Hoosier businesses have been recognized during award's 29-year history.
