STATEHOUSE (July 28, 2020) — Bar-Cons Federal Credit Union and Centra Credit Union in Bartholomew County recently received the Governor’s Half Century Business Award recognizing their longstanding service in the community, according to State Rep. Ryan Lauer (R-Columbus).

"These local credit unions have served customers here continuously for decades, which is a great accomplishment," Lauer said. "Both of these businesses are truly deserving of this award and I thank them for their continued commitment to our community."

According to Lauer, Bar-Cons Federal Credit Union and Centra Credit Union were recognized for remaining in operation in Indiana for 55 and 80 years, respectively, and demonstrating a commitment to serving the community.

The 76 Indiana companies and organizations honored with the Governor’s Century or Half Century Business awards will be invited to participate in the 2021 ceremony, with this year's spring ceremony canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

More than 1,560 Hoosier businesses have been recognized during award's 29-year history.
