STATEHOUSE (Sept. 17, 2026) – State Reps. Kendell Culp (R-Rensselaer) and Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) are encouraging local students to apply for the Indiana House Republican Internship Program for the 2027 legislative session.
Culp said this paid, full-time internship is open to college students, recent graduates and students in law or graduate school from January through April.
"Our internship can kick-start your career in almost any industry," Culp said. "From networking to professional workshops, there are tons of skills and resources students can establish and utilize during the legislative session."
Pressel said interns work in the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis full-time Monday through Friday during the legislative session and gain practical knowledge of state government through active participation in the legislative process.
"I encourage any student looking for professional experience to apply for an Indiana House Internship," Pressel said. "Working with staff and lawmakers is a great way to get firsthand knowledge of the legislative process."
Positions are available in legislative operations, policy and communications.
This spring semester internship gives interested students opportunities to interact with state legislators, state agencies and private sector organizations, as well as participate in a weekly speaker series featuring Indiana civic leaders.
Applications are available online at indianahouserepublicans.com/internship and are due by Oct. 31.
