Note to the Press – Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston (R-Fishers) issued the following statement today upon final passage of Senate Enrolled Act 27 establishing the Northwest Indiana Stadium Authority.
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 26, 2026) – "Indiana is ready to seize this transformational opportunity for Northwest Indiana that will deliver lasting benefits to the entire state. A project like this brings jobs, new businesses, increased tourism, and long-term economic and population growth. We're excited to bring this project one step closer to fruition and firmly position Indiana as a premier destination for world-class sports and entertainment. I thank the ownership and leadership of the Chicago Bears and look forward to building on our partnership."
SEA 27 passed the Senate for a final time today and now heads to the governor's desk for final consideration to become law. The bill passed the House on Tuesday with a bipartisan vote of 95-4.
