STATEHOUSE (March 19, 2024) – State Rep. Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) recently welcomed local students from Valparaiso to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2024 legislative session.

As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined Soliday on the House floor to learn about the legislative process.

"I really enjoy meeting and talking with pages, and helping answer questions about the legislative process," Soliday said. "The page program is really a unique and fun opportunity for students to visit the Statehouse in Indianapolis, and learn more about Indiana's history and how a bill becomes law. I encourage any student interested in the 2025 page program to sign up."

Area students serving as pages during the 2024 legislative session were Claire Blaney from Valparaiso, who attends Wheeler High School, and Delilah Buttke from Valparaiso, who attends Valparaiso High School.

Students ages 13 to 18 should consider participating during the 2025 legislative session. Contact Soliday's Statehouse office at h4@iga.in.gov or 317-232-9600 for more information.
