STATEHOUSE (June 24, 2019) – State Rep. Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) was recently identified as a pro-economy, pro-jobs legislator in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s annual Legislative Vote Analysis.

Soliday earned a score of 96% based on his votes cast in agreement with the Indiana Chamber’s position on 38 bills during the 2019 legislative session. Legislation considered in the scoring included increased investment in rural broadband, significant water infrastructure funding, school accountability improvements and statewide preschool expansion.

“Hoosier businesses create jobs and boost both the local and state economies,” Soliday said. “Indiana has established itself as one of the best places for companies to set up shop, and I will continue supporting policies that build on this momentum and create more opportunities for Hoosiers.”

According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s labor force has experienced record growth, with more than 37,000 Hoosiers entering the workforce since April 2018.

Soliday, chair of the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee, authored a measure to improve water infrastructure funding, and sponsored a measure to expand broadband to rural areas.

Soliday received a four-year aggregate score of 98% from the chamber.
