STATEHOUSE (Dec. 7, 2018) – State Rep. Ed Soliday (R-Valparaiso) recently received key committee assignments.
Soliday was recently appointed as chair of the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee. This week, Soliday was named to the House Roads and Transportation Committee and the House Elections and Apportionment Committee. He was also reappointed as Assistant Majority Floor Leader.
“With it being a long session, there is plenty of work to do,” Soliday said. “Not only will we be crafting the state’s biennial budget, but we’ll also be taking a hard look at some key issues affecting Hoosiers. As some of those issues come through the Utilities committee, I am ready to get to work in my new role and work with colleagues to continue improving Indiana’s energy and utilities sectors.”
Soliday previously served as chair of the House Roads and Transportation Committee for eight years. During this time, he championed the largest, fully-funded infrastructure investment plan in Indiana history.
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. On Jan. 3, House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
Standing committee hearings, which typically occur at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, can be viewed live online at iga.in.gov. This site also provides committee calendars and meeting agendas.
