STATEHOUSE (Dec. 7, 2018) – State Rep. Ben Smaltz (R-Auburn) was recently reappointed to serve as chair of the House Public Policy Committee.
Smaltz will also serve on the House Roads and Transportation Committee, House Joint Rules Committee, House Rules and Legislative Procedures Committee, and House Commerce, Small Business and Economic Development Committee.
“I am looking forward to leading the discussion on a variety of important issues facing our state to determine what is right for Indiana,” Smaltz said.
Standing committee assignments are made biennially after each election. House lawmakers will convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 3 in the House Chamber for the first day of the 2019 legislative session.
“It’s been a busy summer and fall as lawmakers did a deep dive in many policy ideas,” Smaltz said. “I look forward to getting started and seeing many of the ideas formulated during that time take shape.”
