STATEHOUSE (Dec. 3, 2025) – "I appreciate the members of the committee for their engagement and staff for their very hard work. The discussion and testimony offered yesterday and throughout the lead-up to this hearing have been sincere and passionate, regardless of where individuals stand on the issue. While we may disagree on how to get there, I believe we all share a common goal: doing what is best for Indiana and for the United States. Everyone here cares deeply about being heard.

Throughout this process, I have done my best to listen, to follow the rules, and to be authentic, honest and straightforward.

I've heard thoughtful points from both sides and thank those Hoosiers who took time to testify. I trust that all members have been thoughtful in their deliberations, considering both where we stand today and where we hope to be in the future. I believe HB 1032 follows our rules, our laws, the intent of the Framers of the Constitution and the precedent set by the SCOTUS, and represents the best path forward. I am grateful for the committee's support and look forward to further deliberations on the House floor."
