STATEHOUSE (March 16, 2022) – Seymour High School student Sam Beavers recently joined State Rep. Jim Lucas (R-Seymour) at the Statehouse where he participated in the Indiana House Page Program.
According to Lucas, Beavers toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, helped staff with daily responsibilities and joined Lucas on the House floor to witness the legislative process.
"I always enjoy getting to meet students like Sam at the Statehouse," Lucas said. "It's encouraging to see young Hoosiers like him take an interest in state government and the lawmaking process, and I hope to see more participants from our community next session."
Lucas said students between the ages of 13 and 18 should consider participating during the 2023 session.
