STATEHOUSE (Dec. 13, 2022) – Rush county's newly elected state representatives recently received appointments to serve on key House standing committees.
House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms. State Rep. Cory Criswell (R-Middletown) received appointments to serve on the House Environmental Affairs Committee, the House Public Policy Committee, and the House Roads and Transportation Committee.
"Committees are the first step in reviewing bills and gathering input from Hoosiers on the issues they face," Criswell said. "I look forward to working with my colleagues to vet proposals for new laws and supporting legislation that best serves our communities."
State Rep. Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville) received appointments to serve on the House Roads and Transportation Committee, the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee, and the House Environmental Affairs Committee.
"I'm excited to serve on these committees and ensure voices in our district are heard as we examine proposals for new laws," Patterson said. "Whether it's helping our state's most vulnerable or addressing our infrastructure needs, I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and finding opportunities to improve."
House lawmakers are scheduled to convene for session at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session.
