STATEHOUSE (Dec. 10, 2020) – State Rep. Elizabeth Rowray (R-Yorktown) was recently appointed to serve on the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.

As a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rowray will play a key role in debating and passing the state's $34 billion biennial budget.

"Indiana's biennial budget funds K-12 education, the Department of Child Services, Medicaid and other key government functions," Rowray said. "I look forward to contributing as a member of the Ways and Means committee as we work to craft the state's budget."

A former school board member, Rowray said she will use her experience to help guide her as she examines state policies impacting Hoosier families through the House Family, Children and Human Affairs Committee.

Rowray's committee appointments come after she was elected in November to represent House District 35 in the Indiana General Assembly. She said House standing committees will meet throughout the legislative session, which is scheduled to kick off on Jan. 4.
