STATEHOUSE (Sept. 29, 2016) – State Rep. Rhonda Rhoads (R-Corydon) and fellow Republican members of the Indiana House of Representatives encourage students to apply to intern for the upcoming 2017 legislative session, which runs from January through April.
“Internships with the House of Representatives provide opportunities to gain valuable work experience that sets job-seekers apart from other candidates,” Rhoads said. “This program fosters an environment for interns to strengthen skills learned in the classroom.”
College sophomores, juniors, seniors, graduate students, law students and recent graduates are eligible to apply. Benefits include a bi-weekly compensation of $700 and opportunities to earn academic credits and a scholarship.
Rhoads said these are full-time positions, Monday through Friday, with a typical work day starting at 8:30 a.m.
Internships are available in various departments, including legislative, communications, technology, fiscal policy and policy.
