STATEHOUSE (July 30, 2025) – State Reps. Lorissa Sweet (R-Wabash) and Craig Snow (R-Warsaw) recently received appointments to serve on interim study committees, which will meet throughout the summer and fall to explore policy issues and work to identify solutions.
Legislators will hear testimony from the public, experts and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the next legislative session which begins in January.
Sweet will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Government.
"Interim study committees give lawmakers the opportunity to more closely examine issues that affect Hoosiers on an everyday basis," Sweet said. "Legislators will continue to cut red tape and make sure tax dollars are used effectively."
Snow will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Fiscal Policy and the Budget Committee.
"This summer, our study committee is going to look at salaries for K-12 administrators in order to see how much of our tax dollars are actually making it to classrooms," Snow said. "We will also examine ratios for K-12 administrators to students as well as teacher-to-student ratios to ensure our Hoosier students are learning in optimal environments."
