STATEHOUSE (July 30, 2025) – State Reps. Jim Pressel (R-Rolling Prairie) and Jake Teshka (R-North Liberty) recently received appointments to serve on interim study committees, which will meet throughout the summer and fall to explore policy issues and work to identify solutions.
Legislators will hear testimony from the public, experts and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the next legislative session which begins in January.
Pressel will serve as vice chair of the Interim Study Committee on Roads and Transportation.
"Renaming roads and bridges is just one way we can honor our Hoosier heroes across the state," Pressel said. "We'll take a look at road and bridge renamings to ensure we have an optimal process when recognizing the actions of those who have fallen."
Teshka will serve as a member of the Interim Study Committee on Education, the Interim Study Committee on Financial Institutions and Insurance and as a member of the Midwest Continental Divide Commission Board.
"Interim study committees are an opportunity to take a deep dive on issues affecting Hoosiers and work on legislation ahead of the next session," Teshka said. "I look forward to hearing from community members on these topics and continuing efforts to improve our region and state."
