STATEHOUSE (March 13, 2024) – State Reps. Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) and Lindsay Patterson (R-Brookville) recently welcomed Southeast Indiana students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2024 legislative session.
"Paging at the Statehouse is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students, getting to see the legislative process firsthand," Lyness said. "The capitol has a long and storied history, and I always enjoy getting to share a part of it with young Hoosiers from House District 68."
As pages, the students assisted lawmakers and staff with daily duties, toured offices of all branches of government in the Statehouse, and joined lawmakers on the House floor to witness and learn about the legislative process.
"It is never too early to engage with your state government, and the page program is a great gateway to teaching students more about Indiana's legislature," Patterson said. "This experience is not only educational for our pages, but also a fun, interactive way to learn about government and history."
