STATEHOUSE (July 15, 2025) – State Reps. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) and J.D. Prescott (R-Union City) recently received appointments to serve on interim study committees, which will meet throughout the summer and fall to explore policy issues and work to identify solutions.
Legislators will hear testimony from the public, experts and stakeholders as they work on bill recommendations ahead of the next legislative session which begins in January.
Lehman will serve as co-chair of the Artificial Intelligence Task Force and as a member of the Indiana Semiquincentennial Commission, the Interim Study Committee on Commerce and Economic Development, the Legislative Council and the Legislative State of Emergency Advisory Group. He will also serve as vice chair of the Legislative Council Audit and Financial Reporting Subcommittee and the Oral History Project Advisory Commission.
"In this committee, we are going to take a close look at the increasing market concentration of the health care industry, from insurance providers to pharmacies," Lehman said. "These trends effect the cost and quality of health care, so we are going to take a deep dive as part of our overall goal of lowering out-of-control costs."
Prescott will serve as a member of the Corn Marketing Council.
"Indiana's farmers strongly support both our economy and communities," Prescott said. " Serving on the Corn Marketing Council is a chance to support Hoosier agriculture, while working alongside colleagues and farmers to help keep the industry moving forward."
