STATEHOUSE (Jan. 9, 2025) – Applications are live for the Indiana House Page Program during the 2025 legislative session at the Statehouse in Indianapolis, according to State Reps. Matt Lehman (R-Berne) and J.D. Prescott (R-Union City).
Lehman said Hoosier students ages 13 to 18 are invited to spend the day assisting lawmakers and staff, touring the Indiana Statehouse and listening in on the legislative session.
"Student pages have the opportunity to meet local lawmakers and work with Statehouse staff during their visit," Lehman said. "The House Page Program is a great opportunity for young Hoosiers to learn more about Indiana government and how a bill becomes a law."
Prescott said interested students will have the opportunity to page on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the legislative session and will receive an excused absence from school. Large groups can participate on Wednesdays only. To schedule a group, contact the page program director at 317-232-9410 or pageprogram@iga.in.gov.
"It’s always a highlight of session when local students serve as pages at the Statehouse," Prescott said. "This program offers a unique chance to better understand the lawmaking process while learning how decisions impact their communities. If you or someone you know is interested, encourage them to sign up and get involved."
Applications are live and can be found at IndianaHouseRepublicans.com/PageProgram along with available days during the 2025 legislative session, which starts Jan. 8 and must end by April 29.
Students are responsible for their own lunch and transportation to and from the Statehouse in Indianapolis.
