Reps. Ireland, McGuire welcome local students to the Statehouse during 2026 session

STATEHOUSE (March 25, 2026) – State Reps. Andrew Ireland (R-Indianapolis) and Julie McGuire (R-Indianapolis) recently welcomed local students to the Statehouse where they participated in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2026 legislative session.

"It was encouraging to see local students use this program to learn more about their state government and watch the lawmaking process," Ireland said. "It's a great lesson in civics that augments what they do in the classroom."

McGuire said as pages, the students interacted with lawmakers and staff, toured the Statehouse and joined lawmakers on the House floor to watch the legislative session.

"We need to inspire the next generation to take time and effort to continue making their communities and state a great place to plant roots," McGuire said. "I encourage students who are interested in learning more about Indiana's history and how laws are made to apply to be pages next session."

These area students served as pages during the 2026 legislative session:

• Lila Cridlin, who attends Lawrence Central High School;
• Zachary Dyke, from Indianapolis, who attends Southport High School;
• Thomas Heneisen, from Indianapolis, who is a home-schooled student;
• Sabira Intizar, from Indianapolis, who attends Franklin Central High School;
• Adisun Martin, from Indianapolis, who attends Franklin Central High School;
• Willem Mitchell, from Indianapolis, who attends Franklin Central High School;
• Olivia Wells, from Beech Grove, who is a home-schooled student; and
• Madison Wood, from Indianapolis, who attends Southport High School.
