STATEHOUSE (Dec. 12, 2022) – State Reps. Dale DeVon (R-Granger) and Jake Teshka (R-South Bend) recently received appointments to serve as members of key House standing committees at the Statehouse.

House standing committee appointments are made by the Indiana House Speaker biennially after the November election and are in effect for the duration of members' two-year terms. DeVon was reappointed as chair of the House Committee on Family, Children and Human Affairs, and will serve as a member of the House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee.

"This legislative session, we will be examining a number of policies impacting families, including Indiana's most vulnerable children, and our communities," DeVon said. "I look forward returning the Statehouse and supporting proposals that put Hoosiers first."

Teshka will serve as vice chair of the House Financial Institutions Committee, and as a member of the House Education Committee and the House Public Policy Committee.

"As vice chair of the House Financial Institutions Committee, I plan to draw on my experience as a business development professional to best serve our state," Teshka said. "This session, we'll also be considering several policies supporting our students and schools, and impacting public policy."

House lawmakers are scheduled to convene at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 9 for the first day of the 2023 legislative session. Hoosiers can visit iga.in.gov to find legislation, view calendars, and watch committee meetings and session.
